Known for its rolling hills and uneven terrain, the state of Minas Gerais is known as the largest of Brazil’s three major coffee-growing regions. Mantiqueira de Minas is one of the most awarded regions in Brazil for its tradition of producing high-quality coffee. In 2011, it was recognized as (IG) Geographical Indication, in the modality (PGI) Indication of Origin for producing coffees with highly differentiated sensory profiles.

This is a natural process coffee, meaning after the coffee cherries were picked from the tree, the skin of the fruit was left on to dry before depulping and finishing the hulling process. Natural Process coffees tend to have a more fruit-forward flavor and a slightly heavier body, creating more mouthfeel. We roast this coffee to bring out notes of nut, dark cocoa, and scrumptious purple fruits (think plum, grape, and blackberry).
